My Lymphoma Story

Hi, I’m Brandi.  I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, also known as Hodkin’s Disease, or “The Hodge” as I like to call it.  Diagnosed the end of April 2008, this seemingly long trip in such a short amount of time has changed so many aspects of my life - has become my life, and obviously will remain a part of my life forever.  I have wanted a blog site for a couple of years now, one that is ongoing and that might be interesting to others, and one that would interest me to write in the first place.  Never being able to figure out a topic that would “capture” anyone, God seemed to have helped me out with a topic - thank you, God…I think?  On this site, I plan to discuss everything about “My Story”, from pre-diagnosis to now, as I hope to make an almost daily account of what I have been through and am going through.  As I have written some of it, I have already captured some of my ups, some of my downs, and some of my basketcase moments - thank you, Chemo!  Here I discuss everything from treatments to symptoms to complications to doctor’s appointments, and anything and everything I find on this “disease”, as I do research as I am able.  I even have a photo gallery that shows nice icky scars and the chemo process.  Hopefully I will be able to get a video or 4 on here, too.  I want my journey documented as well as possible.  I might throw in some other nonsense topics from time to time, though it seems that this has completely consumed my life - so we might just be stuck on the Hodge Topic.

I do hope you will enjoy the site.  I encourage communication, feel free to comment on anything I say or shoot me an email.  I love to hear from people, I love answering their questions, and I love the input that they give me.  Especially from those that have been through this themselves.  Granted they aren’t doctors, but their experiences and stories are showing to be invaluable to me.  I hope to have an interactive site here that encourages communication, not only between you and me, but you and others.  I encourage discussion between yourselves - feel free to comment to others as well, not only myself.  At some point, I would also like to have a forum where we can cover all topics of Hodgkin’s and Lymphoma and maybe even goof off a little, but the Hodge Board is doing such a great job of that already, I don’t know if I could replace that.  So while you’re here, grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage (it would be a nice Jager Bomb or Rum and Coke, for me, if I were allowed to drink it) - even a cigarette if you would like, sit back and enjoy!
